Direct Debit Request (DDR) Service Terms and Conditions

The Direct Debit Request (DDR) Service Agreement outlines the responsibilities of IRANIAN ASSOCIATION INC (“The Association”, “we”, “us”, “our”) and you with regard to direct debiting your nominated financial account.
Signing a Direct Debit Request Form, means you have read, understood and agreed to these terms and conditions and you have authorised us to arrange for funds to be debited from your account. We will only arrange for funds to be debited from your account as scheduled and authorised in the Direct Debit Form Request.

Our Commitment to You

  • The Association will give you at least 14 days notice in writing of any changes to the terms of the drawing arrangements
  • The Association will keep information relating to your nominated financial institution account (the “nominated account”) confidential, except where required for the purposes of conducting direct debits with your financial institution.
  • Where the due date is not a business day The Association will draw from your nominated financial institution account on the next business day.

Your Commitment to Us

It is your responsibility to:

  • Ensure your nominated account can accept direct debits;
  • Ensure that there are sufficient clear funds available in the nominated account to meet each drawing on the due date;
  • Advise immediately, if the nominated account is transferred or closed, or your account details change;
  • Arrange a suitable payment method if The Association cancels the drawing arrangements;
  • Ensure that all authorised signatories nominated on the financial institution account to be debited, sign the Direct Debit Request.

Changing the Direct Debit Arrangement

Subject to the terms and conditions of your nominated financial institution account, you may alter the drawing arrangements. Such advice should be received by us at least 7 business days prior to the drawing date for any of the following:

  • Changing your nominated account number
  • Deferring a drawing
  • Altering a DDR schedule
  • Cancelling the drawings completely
  • Providing an alternate account number for future drawing..

Other Information

  • The details of your drawing arrangements are contained in the DDR schedule.
  • The Association requires that instructions to stop or in any way alter the drawing details be in a written form.
  • Any bank fees incurred by The Association from a dishonoured direct debit, may be passed on to you.


  • If you believe that there has been an error in debiting your account, you should notify us by phone and confirm that notice in writing to us (by email to info@iai.org.au and CC president@imawa.org) as soon as possible so that we can resolve the issue. Alternatively, you can take it up directly with your financial institution.
  • If we conclude as a result of our investigations that your account has been incorrectly debited we will respond to your query by arranging for your financial institution to adjust your account (including interest and charges) accordingly. We will also notify you in writing of the amount by which your account has been adjusted.
  • If we conclude as a result of our investigations that your account has not been incorrectly debited we will respond to your query by providing you with reasons and any evidence for this finding in writing.
